Cable Tricep Pushdown
Constant-tension triceps isolation that is easy on the elbows.
What it works
Triceps
How to do it
- 1Face the cable with a high pulley, elbows pinned against the ribs and a slight forward lean.
- 2Extend the elbows to a full lockout and squeeze, then let the weight pull the hands back up until you feel the triceps stretch — without letting the elbows drift forward.
- 3The whole movement happens below the elbow; if the shoulders are helping, drop the weight.
Cues that matter
- ›Elbows pinned to the ribs
- ›Extend to a full lockout
- ›Let the stack stretch the triceps at the top
