Chin Ups
Biceps-and-back bodyweight builder; slightly easier than pull-ups.
What it works
Back
How to do it
- 1Hang from a bar with an underhand grip about shoulder width, arms fully straight.
- 2Pull your chest toward the bar, driving the elbows down and back, until your chin clears it.
- 3Lower all the way to a dead hang.
- 4The underhand grip brings the biceps in heavily — that's why most people can do more chins than pull-ups.
Cues that matter
- ›Full dead hang
- ›Lead with the chest
- ›Own the lower — no kipping
