Incline Dumbbell Fly
An incline arc that biases the upper chest, and one of the few chest movements that is a stretch rather than a press.
What it works
Chest
How to do it
- 1Bench at 30°, dumbbells above the upper chest, elbows softly bent and fixed.
- 2Open out until you feel a stretch, then arc back together.
- 3The incline shifts the work to the upper chest.
- 4Never turn it into a press by bending the elbows to get through a heavy set.
Cues that matter
- ›Bench at thirty degrees
- ›Soft elbow bend, fixed throughout
- ›Open to a stretch, then arc back
