Clean and Jerk
Takes a bar from the floor to overhead in two lifts, and demands power, timing and a solid overhead position.
What it works
Whole Body
How to do it
- 1Clean the bar to the shoulders and stand.
- 2Then dip, drive, and split or push under the bar to receive it locked out overhead, before recovering to standing.
- 3Two lifts in one, and both are technical — get coaching rather than learning it from a video.
Cues that matter
- ›Stand fully before you start the jerk
- ›Dip and drive, do not press it up
- ›Punch under and lock it out
