Pistol Squat
Single-leg squatting to full depth, which exposes a side-to-side difference nothing bilateral will show.
What it works
Legs
How to do it
- 1Stand on one leg, other leg held straight out in front.
- 2Lower all the way to the bottom under control, then stand back up without touching down.
- 3It needs ankle mobility, single-leg strength and balance together — build it with box pistols first.
Cues that matter
- ›Sit back, do not fall forward
- ›Free leg straight and off the floor
- ›Hold a counterweight if you cannot balance
