Band ankle eversion

The peroneals on the outside of the ankle are what stop it rolling again; they are also what an inversion sprain damages.

What it works

Ankle stabilisers, Calves

How to do it

  1. 1Anchor a band and loop it round the outside of the foot so it pulls inward.
  2. 2Turn the sole of the foot outward against the band, then let it return slowly.
  3. 3Keep the knee and shin still — if the whole leg rotates, you are using the hip instead.
  4. 4Fifteen reps, three sets.
  5. 5The peroneals on the outside of the ankle are what stop it rolling again, and they are exactly what an inversion sprain weakens.
