Box jumps
Trains vertical power and a controlled, knee-safe landing.
What it works
Quads, Glutes, Calves
How to do it
- 1From an athletic stance, load the hips and explode up onto a box, landing soft and quiet in a quarter-squat with full hip extension at take-off.
- 2Step down (don't jump down) to save the joints.
- 3The box just protects the landing — the aim is maximal, controlled vertical power off the floor.
Cues that matter
- ›Load the hips, then explode up
- ›Full hip extension at take-off
- ›Land soft and quiet
