Reactive mirror drill
Builds the reactive change-of-direction you actually use in a game.
What it works
Glutes, Quads, Calves
How to do it
- 1Face a partner a couple of metres away; one leads with short lateral and forward-back movements, the other mirrors as fast as possible.
- 2Stay in a low athletic stance and react — never pre-plan.
- 3This trains the unscripted change-of-direction you actually use in a game, where you respond to an opponent rather than a cone.
Cues that matter
- ›React — don't pre-plan your steps
- ›Low athletic stance
- ›Push hard off the outside foot
