Military Press
A strict standing press that builds honest overhead strength.
What it works
Shoulders
How to do it
- 1A strict standing press, feet together or hip width.
- 2No leg drive at all — brace hard, press the bar past your face, and lock out overhead with the ribs down.
- 3Leaning back to get the bar up is the universal fault and it loads the lower back instead of the shoulders.
Cues that matter
- ›Strict — no leg drive
- ›Ribs down, don't lean back
- ›Bar over the mid-foot at lockout
