Tackle technique
Safe, dominant tackling technique — the core rugby skill.
What it works
Legs, Core, Shoulders
How to do it
- 1Rehearse the tackle at controlled intensity on a bag or a compliant partner: track your man, get your head to the correct side (cheek-to-cheek, head behind), make contact with a low body height, drive through, and wrap and squeeze.
- 2Safe, dominant technique is the core rugby skill — grooving it slowly first is what makes it reliable and safe under fatigue.
