Thruster
A squat and an overhead press welded together, so the legs pass the bar straight to the arms without a pause.
What it works
Whole Body
How to do it
- 1Hold the bar in a front rack, squat to full depth, then use the drive out of the squat to press it straight overhead in one continuous movement.
- 2The squat and press must flow together — pausing at the top of the squat wastes all the leg drive and makes it twice as hard.
Cues that matter
- ›Hold the bar in a front rack
- ›Squat deep, then drive straight up
- ›Never pause at the top of the squat
