Incline treadmill walk

Aerobic work with almost no joint load, so it stacks on top of hard training instead of competing with it.

What it works

Glutes, Calves, Cardio

How to do it

  1. 1Set the treadmill to a steep incline (10–15%) and a walking pace you can hold conversationally.
  2. 2Do not hold the handrails — gripping them takes most of the load out and turns a genuinely useful session into nothing.
  3. 3Stand tall, let the arms swing, and drive through the whole foot.
  4. 4It builds a real aerobic base with almost no impact, which makes it ideal when you're carrying a niggle or in a heavy training week.
