Push Press
Lets you move more overhead by adding leg drive — builds power.
What it works
Shoulders
How to do it
- 1Set up as for a strict press.
- 2Dip a few inches by bending the knees with the torso vertical, then drive explosively through the legs and use that momentum to punch the bar overhead, locking out with the arms.
- 3The dip is short and sharp — dipping too deep turns it into a squat and kills the drive.
Cues that matter
- ›Small dip from the legs
- ›Explode the bar up
- ›Punch the head through at lockout
