Single-leg balance progression
Rebuilds the proprioception lost after an ankle sprain — the biggest predictor of re-injury.

What it works
Ankle stabilisers, Glute med
How to do it
- 1Stand on one leg with a soft knee and hold for 30–45 seconds, gripping the floor with your toes.
- 2Progress it by closing your eyes, then standing on a cushion, then adding head turns or catching a ball.
- 3Ankle sprains wipe out proprioception — the joint's sense of its own position — and failing to retrain it is the single biggest reason ankles get re-sprained.
- 4Rebuild this before returning to sport.
