What you need
- ·150g beef mince (5% fat)
- ·200g black beans
- ·200g chopped tomatoes
- ·70g basmati rice
- ·60g onions
- ·8g garlic
- ·8g ground spices (cumin, paprika, turmeric)
- ·5g red chillies
- ·4g stock cubes
Method
- 1Mince into a dry hot pan and left alone until one side is properly browned before you break it up. Stirring it from the start steams it grey.
- 2Onion and garlic in with the fat that has rendered out, then the spices and chilli.
- 3Tomatoes, beans and stock. Simmer 20 minutes uncovered until it thickens.
- 4Rice on when the tomatoes go in.
- 5Taste for salt and heat at the end, not the start.
