Crossing reps
Delivery quality from wide areas — the difference between a chance and a goal kick.
What it works
Hip flexors, Quads
How to do it
- 1From a wide position, open your hips, plant your standing foot slightly behind and beside the ball, and whip across the outside of the ball with your instep to generate curl away from the keeper.
- 2Aim for a zone — the penalty spot, the back post — rather than a specific player.
- 3Work both sides.
- 4Delivery quality is what separates a dangerous winger from a busy one.
Cues that matter
- ›Open the hips, plant foot behind the ball
- ›Whip across the ball with the instep
- ›Aim for a zone, not a person
