Turkish get-up
Five minutes of shoulder stability and trunk control in one rep, and it exposes every position you cannot hold.
What it works
Deep core, Shoulders, Rotator cuff
How to do it
- 1Lying on your back, press the bell up with one arm and stand up without ever taking your eyes off it, then reverse the whole thing to the floor.
- 2Roll to the elbow, to the hand, bridge the hips, sweep the leg through to a half-kneeling position, stand, and come back down the same way.
- 3Stop at every position rather than flowing through it.
- 4Practise the whole sequence balancing a shoe on your fist before you ever load it.
Cues that matter
- ›Eyes on the bell the whole way
- ›Stop at each position before the next
- ›Practise it with a shoe on the fist first
