Kettlebell halo
Warms the shoulders through a full circle under a little load, which is more useful than swinging the arms about.
What it works
Rotator cuff, T-spine, Shoulders
How to do it
- 1Hold the bell upside-down by the horns at chest height.
- 2Circle it around the head, keeping it close, and return to the start, then repeat in the opposite direction.
- 3Keep the ribs pulled down so the movement happens at the shoulders rather than by leaning away from the weight.
- 4Do the same number of circles each way — going one direction more than the other is how a warm-up creates the asymmetry it was meant to fix.
Cues that matter
- ›Circle it close around the head
- ›Ribs down, do not lean away from it
- ›Equal circles in both directions
