Kettlebell windmill
Loads rotation and side-bending at the same time, which is a demand the rest of a programme almost never makes.
What it works
Obliques, T-spine, Shoulders
How to do it
- 1Press one bell overhead and turn the feet out roughly forty-five degrees away from it.
- 2Keeping your eyes on the bell and that arm locked, push the loaded hip out to the side and hinge down, letting the free hand travel toward the floor.
- 3Come back up by driving the hip back under you.
- 4Range is limited by the overhead arm staying locked, not by how close the free hand gets to the floor.
Cues that matter
- ›Eyes on the bell overhead throughout
- ›Push the loaded hip out to the side
- ›Go only as far as the arm stays locked
