Long passing range
Switching play quickly and accurately breaks compact defensive blocks.
What it works
Hip flexors, Core
How to do it
- 1Striking with your instep, lean back slightly and hit under the ball to loft it, or stay over it and drive through the middle for a flat pass.
- 2Follow through toward your target.
- 3Alternate driven and lofted balls over 30–50m to a partner or target zone.
- 4The ability to switch play quickly and accurately is what breaks a compact defensive block.
Cues that matter
- ›Lean back slightly, strike under the ball
- ›Follow through toward the target
- ›Vary driven vs lofted
